CBI Becomes The First Private Credit Bureau to Obtain ISO 27701 Certification

Credit Bureau Indonesia (CBI) has once again achieved a remarkable milestone by obtaining the ISO 27701 certification for Privacy Information Management System. CBI is the first private credit bureau (Lembaga Pengelola Informasi Perkreditan/LPIP) in Indonesia to achieve ISO 27701 certification.

ISO 27701 is an international standard that provides a framework for enhancing and developing an information security management system currently certified with ISO 27001 into a privacy information management system (PIMS). This certification confirms that CBI has implemented strict data privacy protection measures in accordance with global standards related to personal data protection. This achievement is particularly significant as Indonesia prepares to implement the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) No. 27 of 2022.

CBI’s Director of Information Technology, Ivan Irawan, stated, “With the imminent implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP), CBI, as an organization managing credit information, needs to be at the forefront in ensuring compliance with these regulations. The ISO 27701 certification not only prepares us to meet governance standards based on the UU PDP but also enhances the confidence of our members and stakeholders that their data is managed with the highest security standards.”

The ISO 27701 certification strengthens the two other ISO certifications previously obtained by CBI, namely ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1. ISO 27001 is the international standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). ISMS uses a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information, including people, processes, and IT systems, by applying a rigorous risk management process.

In terms of readiness to provide IT services, CBI has demonstrated compliance with the ISO 20000-1 certification standard, which ensures that CBI’s services meet acceptable quality standards for customers, encompassing the design, transition, delivery, and improvement of services that meet service requirements and provide value to both customers and service providers.
